Badger Kennel Club offers a variety of activities for dog fanciers including, classes, community outreach, public education, legislative information, canine health seminars, and much more.

Annually our club sponsors 3 obedience and rally trials, an all breed conformation show, 2 agility trials, AKC Temperament Trials, CGC testing and are working to continue to add events as members become involved in new areas.

Benefits of membership are having a wealth of knowledgeable people to talk to about you dog and your goals for your relationship with your dog. Multiple opportunities to volunteer and learn new ways to have fun with your dog. Educational opportunities. A fun place to hangout with and enjoy the company of people who love their dogs. All members receive a 50% discount on classes offered at the BKC.

Member Rewards

Being a member volunteer does have its rewards! Member volunteers contribute their personal time, effort, and talents to further the mission of the Badger Kennel Club. Member volunteers not only assist Badger Kennel Club in being successful but also help the community in discovering the many benefits and joys of training their dog.

With the help of member volunteers, the BKC can provide the opportunities for enhancing the bond between human and canine companions.

The Badger Kennel Club is an all volunteer organization and the participation from each and every member is crucial to the success of our club. As a result, all members are eligible to participate in the new Reward Program.

With the exception of actively taking a class with your canine, any time spent volunteering or working on club business can be applied! Be sure to track your hours!

Membership Levels

Not only do members receive a 50% discount on classes offered at the BKC but volunteering now rewards you with a discount on membership dues.

IMPORTANT: First Year Members are not eligible for reduced dues for volunteer hours.  Volunteer hours may only be used in the year following the contribution.

After 25 years of membership this Level will automatically apply

Membership Process

To be considered for membership applicants must first complete the following:

  1. Complete the membership application form and agree to the club’s Code of Ethics.
  2. The applicant is expected to volunteer, participating and/or assisting in BKC activities such as the Dog Show, Dog Fair, FastCAT trials, Obedience and Rally trials, training classes, or other BKC activities that the member has an interest in pursuing.  
  3. The applicant must attend two general club meetings, held on the 3rd Thursday of each month 7:00-9:00 p.m. (except July and December).
  4. The extent of the applicant’s activity participation will be verified by the sponsor who will write a letter of recommendation. The letter of recommendation will detail the extent of the applicant’s activity participation, and will be submitted to the membership chairperson who will submit the applicant’s completed application form, signed code of ethics, and letter of recommendation to the Board for approval and publication in the club’s newsletter.
  5. Membership voting will take place at the next scheduled general meeting.

Annual Membership Dues

  • New Member: $80 initial new member dues
  • Member: $80 with 0-19 hours of  volunteering in the past year.
  • Contributor: $60 with 20-59 hours of volunteering in the past year (building key available)
  • Sponsor: $30 with 60+ hours of volunteering in the past year (building key available)
  • Family: $120/$100/$50
  • Junior: $20
